In singsong rhyming verse, Holly Kern takes readers on a dreamlike tour under the sea. There, dreamy wanderers meet a tree that is totally out of its element. Rooted to the sea floor yet surrounded by the wonders of the ocean, the tree realized how lonely life is without friends. But it is hard to make friends when we are different! As the tree slowly begins to develop friendships with the various creatures that share the deep blue, the newly formed relationships are threatened by a group of toothy sharks. With courage and strength, the tree uses its differences to save the day. In typical Mr. Mardi Gras fashion, the aquatic friends come together to form a parade celebrating their friendship.
Holly and Blaine Kern were both born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. A whimsical married couple separated in age by nearly fifty years, they have been together since 2002. Holly Kern is a former choreographer, competitive dance coach, and dance studio owner and has mentored children of all ages. She formerly produced an annual dance production staged at the Orpheum Theater in New Orleans. Holly has had a flair for writing from a young age and cites Dr. Seuss and Shel Silverstein as her early influences. Blaine Kern is a legendary artist who founded Kern Studios as well as the popular tourist attraction Mardi Gras World. Known as Mr. Mardi Gras for revolutionizing Mardi Gras, Blaine has produced events, parades, sculptures, and attractions for theme parks worldwide, including Disney World and Universal Studios. Blaine was even offered a job personally by his idol, Walt Disney. Blaine, the WWII Veteran is ninety years young and still creates on a daily basis with his wife Holly. Together they share five dogs, three cats, a love for the arts, and a passion for traveling the world, having visited seventy countries and all seven continents.

Heavy-goods shipping for oversized items is available for $29.95 for orders placed in the U.S.

You can skip the shipping fees with free local pickup at our Harrison Ave. location. After placing your order and selecting local pickup at checkout, your order will be prepared and ready for pick up within 1-5 business days. We will send you an email when your order is ready along with instructions.
Our in-store pickup hours are 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday, & 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Sundays. Please have your order confirmation email with you when you come.
When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us which will include a tracking number you can use to check its status. Please allow 48 hours for the tracking information to become available.
If you haven’t received your order within 14 days of receiving your shipping confirmation email, please contact us at thecustomerservicemuffins@gmail.com with your name and order number, and we will look into it for you.
For some merchandise returned within 30 days of delivery date, a refund will be issued to the original form of payment at the original selling price.
If returned within 45 days, a store merchandise credit will be issued at the original selling price.
Jewelry purchased via online store can be returned for a refund within 14 days of purchase in the original condition. Jewelry is not refundable after 14 days. Jewelry purchased in store is final sale, with few exceptions.
Christmas items are final sale.
