OUR STORY

Opened in 1970, the original 2,000 square foot Little Miss Muffin was located across the street from its current location in the heart of downtown Lakeview, New Orleans. Two generations and 45 years later, we have blossomed from our Hallmark and Russell Stover roots to our current 6,000 square foot upscale boutique. The family enterprise Little Miss Muffin first evolved to incorporate gifts, bath products, traditional and contemporary home accents, ladies' nightwear, and a spattering of artwork

The real growth started after the famous Hurricane Katrina changed the landscape of New Orleans. Monique desired to rebuild and redefine Little Miss Muffin in a devastated community and infuse hope into the families moving back to the beautiful, talented city of New Orleans.

One of the first businesses to resume operations in Lakeview after Hurricane Katrina, Little Miss Muffin has grown with the ever-changing, ever-flourishing downtown Lakeview neighborhood. The silver lining was an even more diversified selection of inventory by adding a more comprehensive array of gifts, furniture, accoutrements, women's clothing and shoes, jewelry, children's clothing, specialty toys, and a curated collection of wall art and gifts by local artists. This was when the expansion of the layette and specialty clothing took on a new role in Little Miss Muffin. By adding lines such as Maison Nola, Kissy Kissy, Beaufort Bonnet, Mayoral, Casero, and many others to the traditional classic children's clothing lines such as Feltman Brothers and Paty, LMM has become an emporium of shopping for the newest additions to the family to the investigative toddler to the young teen.

Indeed, we have a special place in our heart for our city, reflected in our talented local and regional artists. Inspired by the beauty of our city and surrounding territories, such as our swamps and the Gulf Coast region, our local artists share their gifts in wall art, tabletop accessories, jewelry, and clothing. Many of our artists are exclusive to or originally launched at Little Miss Muffin.
